For two special days this winter, St Luke’s is inviting the public to experience its welcoming spaces at Ecclesall Road South.
The Coach House Café and Stable Store - usually reserved for patients, families, and carers - will open their doors to the wider community, offering a chance to shop unique, sustainable fashion and gifts, enjoy delicious homemade cakes, and learn more about the incredible services St Luke’s provides.
The first Open Day took place on Wednesday 26 November, and the next will be held on Friday 12 December, 10am–3pm, at St Luke’s Ecclesall Road South site, S11 9PX.
These spaces were created to give patients and families a calm, welcoming environment away from the main hospice building - a place to connect over coffee, browse boutique items, or wait while a loved one attends social prescribing classes. The Stable Store features a curated range of women’s, men’s and children’s clothing, gifts, and homeware, perfect for those who can’t easily visit St Luke’s other shops across Sheffield.
St Luke’s Ecclesall Road South site is home to its social prescribing offering, which connects people to support that meets their practical, social and emotional needs. Patients can attend arts and crafts or even yoga classes and much more – all without charge. Families and friends play a valuable role in a patient’s care, so we also provide dedicated support for loved ones through social and bereavement support.
Last year, St Luke’s charity shops raised over £4million towards patient care costs – meaning every item donated, gift aided or bought in our shops has a big impact for St Luke’s whilst supporting ethical shopping and sustainable fashion.
