St Luke's Biz Kids

Develop enterprise skills with Biz Kids

This innovative project teaches children about the power they have to make a positive impact in their local community. They will practice teamwork and communication skills, have the chance to get creative and solve problems, and develop financial literacy whilst having fun too!

At St Luke’s, we love working closely with primary schools to share our mission and inspire young people to make a difference in their local community. Biz Kids is a fantastic opportunity for pupils to create their own enterprise project, gain a range of new skills and make a positive impact through charitable giving.

The money raised by schools through Biz Kids and other fundraising activities is vital to St Luke’s as it ensures that we can continue to provide our services to the people of Sheffield when they need us most.

How does it work?

Schools are provided with £100 seed fund - kindly sponsored by Active Kids Sport Sheffield - then children have two half terms to raise as much as possible. It is a fantastic experience for all involved, allowing students to create their own enterprise project and raise vital funds for St Luke’s.

There are three awards to be won:

  • Biz Kids Champion Award - awarded to the school that raises the most amount of money for St Luke’s.
  • Biz Kids Enterprise Award - awarded to the school that delivers the best presentation which demonstrates how each key learning objective was met throughout the project.
  • Biz Kids Hero Award - awarded to a star pupil from each school that has excelled in the Biz Kids project. They will have demonstrated both fundraising and entrepreneurial skills such as initiative, determination and drive.
Children from every school taking part receive personalised certificates and recognition for their brilliant enterprising fundraising efforts.

How can I get involved?

This is a fantastic opportunity for schools to fulfil curriculum objectives whilst supporting families across Sheffield affected by terminal illness.

Once signed up, schools will receive handy resources and fundraising tips and tricks from our Community Fundraising team to support you along the way.
