Eddie joins the Home Run in memory of grandma Kathleen

By the end of March, seven-year-old Eddie Reynolds will have jogged a remarkable 60 miles in memory of his grandma, Kathleen Maddock.

And every step he takes will be raising money for St Luke’s, where Kathleen was a patient.

Eddie, who lives with mum and dad Lisa and Andy in Richmond, Sheffield, is taking part in Home Run, our March virtual fundraising event, which sees participants running just 13 miles to help raise the vital funds that will us to continue caring for hundreds of people across Sheffield, in their own homes.

Regular runners are going the full distance in one run, while others are spreading the distance over a few days.

For Stradbroke Primary School pupil Eddie that means two sessions per day, which will take the final total up to 60 miles.

“He’s running a mile with me in the morning and then he does a mile while he’s at school,” said dad Andy.

“He knows about St Luke’s and how they looked after his gran and he said he wanted to take part.

“He’s determined to keep going all the way through March and we are very proud of him.”
