Iconic Sheffield album make the perfect birthday gift

A SIGNED copy of one of Sheffield’s most enduring and iconic albums has raised more than £140 for St Luke’s.

Abbeydale Road cafe bar and record store Coles Corner donated the signed copy of singer songwriter Richard Hawley’s iconic vinyl album Coles Corner.

The album was then placed up for auction via our ebay store and was bought by Tony Hopkins for £144.68 as a birthday gift for daughter Kristy.

“To give support so St Luke’s is an honour and a pleasure,” said a delighted Tony.

“I remember Coles Corner as a child with my mother so its significance is very strong for me and for Kristy, who is very interested in Richard Hawley and the titles he selects for his compositions.

“Thanks to St Luke’s for the opportunity to bring a smile to Kristy on her birthday.”

Our Head of Fundraising Joasia Lesniak commented: “Coles Corner is one of Richard Hawley’s most popular albums and a signed copy was guaranteed to generate a lot of interest.

“Richard himself has supported St Luke’s many times and we are sure he will be pleased that this album, which raised so much, will be making a difference to the lives of our patients and their families.”
