SteelPhalt golfers support St Luke’s

LEADING South Yorkshire road surface specialists SteelPhalt will be supporting St Luke’s as they take to the greens for their annual charity golf day.

More than 30 teams of four have signed up for the sporting challenge which will be held at Rotherham Golf Club in Thrybergh on Friday September 29.

And all money raised during the day will be going direct to our services.

“We like to support a different charity at every golf day and, knowing how much St Luke’s depends on public support, we decided that the hospice would make the prefect choice for our 2017 event,” said SteelPhalt Business Development Manager Lee Birkbeck.

“We are delighted that we have been chosen as the charity for this year’s SteelPhalt golf day,” said our Corporate Fundraising Manager Jack Kidder.

“It’s great that a leading South Yorkshire business recognises the importance of the work being carried out at St Luke’s and the fact that we depend on this level of support to raise the £6.2 million we need annually to ensure we can continue to provide our current levels of care for all our patients and their families.”

The SteelPhalt plant in Sheffield Road, Rotherham, converts steel slag into a surface course for road making.

It achieves high skid resistance - enhancing road safety for both drivers and pedestrians - and maintains it throughout the whole life of the road, also avoiding the use of quarried materials and the landfill of residual slag product.

The exceptional strength and durability of steel slag extends the life of the road and lengthens road maintenance intervals for resurfacing.

The company’s products include SteelStop, SteelSurf, SteelPave and SteelFlow.
