The Sheffield Primark store on The Moor has spread festive cheer by supporting St Luke’s through their ‘Giving Tree’ initiative - bringing comfort to patients and their families this Christmas.
Each December, Primark staff choose a charity to support throughout the festive season, and this year St Luke’s Hospice was the clear winner of the staff vote.
Organised by Assistant Manager, Alex Sefton, the store set up a ‘Giving Tree’ in-store, inviting customers to pick a tag, purchase the listed item, and donate it to St Luke’s. These gifts were then packaged and delivered to the hospice ahead of Christmas.
Items included cosy essentials for patients such as pyjamas, hats, scarves, and gloves, children’s gifts to be used by St Luke’s Children & Young People’s Bereavement Service, and hygiene products for use in the In Patient Centre.
Customers could also support financially, by purchasing a gift card of their chosen amount to be donated to St Luke’s.
Primark went above and beyond by donating £500 worth of stock themselves, creating even more festive care packs for patients.
St Luke’s Corporate Partnerships Manager, Jemma Dalton, said: “We’re so grateful to Alex and the team at Primark (store 489) for their generous support this festive season.”
“We have 21 patients at any one time on our In Patient Centre, and hundreds more that we care for in the community. These donations will go such a long way in providing care and comfort this festive period.”
