Cycling, rowing and running for St Luke’s

IT’S a challenging 2,668-mile journey to the popular Canary Islands destination of Fuerteventura…and the team at the Nottingham based Contact Centre for Pendragon PLC did  it the hard way!

For 40 members of staff covered the equivalent of 2,668 miles in running, rowing and cycling – a massive challenge in support of our patient care.

And their efforts raised a final total of more than £1,500 for St Luke’s services.

The popular resort was a favourite destination for colleague Linda Dixon-Smith and her husband Nigel, who received support and care from St Luke’s.

“I didn’t know anything about St Luke’s until Nigel and I needed them,” said Linda.

“For the brief time we needed them, to know that they were there 24/7 offering support for both of us and our family was massive.

“The care, love and facilities that St Luke’s give is beyond words. Thank you everyone taking part and supporting this great event, and thank you St Luke’s.”

Our Corporate Fundraising Manager Jack Kidder commented: “This is a great way to raise money in memory of Nigel and will make an enormous difference to the lives of all St Luke’s patients.

“We are delighted that Linda’s colleagues have come up with such an imaginative way to support us.”
