FIRST South Yorkshire raised more than £3,000 for our patient services when they hosted a special open day for transport enthusiasts.
The event at the company’s Olive Grove Bus Depot in Sheffield saw more than a thousand keen transport fans attend, raising an initial total of £1937.94.
And when the company decided to match fund the amount, that brought the final total to an outstanding £3869.88.
The open day included many attractions, including a selection of modern and heritage vehicles, a chance to experience a bus wash ride, a bus pull by a local strong man, a chance to look around the depot and food and drink stalls.
“First South Yorkshire is a long-time friend and supporter of St Luke’s, who always provide the park and ride services for events like our Festival of Light,” said our Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager Joasia Lesniak.
“The fantastic amount they raised at their Olive Grove Open Day really will make a massive difference to the lives of our patients and their families.”
Andy Metcalfe, Performance Manager at First South Yorkshire, added: “As a major employer in the region, we are committed to supporting the local communities and we’re proud to have supported St Luke’s for the past 20 years – and hopefully many more to come.”
