Bereavement service

Provides support and counselling to carers, families and friends following the loss of a loved one who received care from St Luke’s either in their own home, care home or on our In Patient Centre.

Grief is a natural consequence of loss, and many people manage their bereavement using their own resources and their usual social network.

However, this support can decline over time and a space to talk freely about feelings can feel limited. St Luke’s bereavement counselling offers a safe non-judgemental place to come and navigate this most difficult experience.

We offer 1 -1 counselling sessions (after an initial assessment) to support this. We also have a 2 hour Thursday morning support group where you can come to make new friendships.  Another option is to have a call every few weeks from one of our trained bereavement volunteers.

Contact us via the link below, email us at [email protected] or call 0114 235 7505. We are here to support, to advise when we can, and above all, to listen.

If you are recently bereaved and would like to access some support from our Counselling and Bereavement team and your loved one was a patient at St Luke’s either on the IPC, in the Community or in our Patient and Family Support Service, please refer yourself to the service using the form in the link below.

The team will endeavour to give you a call within a week of you making your referral. If you do not hear from one of our counsellors during this time, please feel free to call us on 0114 235 7505.
