We take action to support social-distancing by closing our shop chain

We have taken positive action to help in the fight against the spread of Coronavirus and closed our chain of 14 shops until further notice following continued government advice to practice social distancing.

For the time being, the St Luke’s donation line is also being suspended, meaning the charity will be unable to accept or collect public donations.

However, St Luke’s online shopping channels at eBay and Amazon will remain in operation.

And St Luke’s clinical services at Little Common Lane Sheffield, currently supporting 450 community patients and 20 in-patients, remain fully active.

“Closing our shops now is the socially responsible thing to do,” said our Head of Retail Marie Egerton.

“Our first priority on all occasions is the health and wellbeing of our staff, volunteers and customers across the Sheffield community.

“Our shop chain generates around one third of St Luke’s income, and with a continuing high demand for our clinical services at this time today’s decision will inevitably place a strain on us in coming months.

“But we’re working hard to ensure that St Luke’s is here now, and will still be here in the future.

“I truly hope that in a few months’ time we’ll all be able to start afresh, and we’re grateful for everyone’s support throughout.

“We wish our volunteers and customers well in coming weeks, and look forward to welcoming you back!”

Full details of St Luke’s services during this time, including how you can help St Luke’s to continue delivering its critical services, can be found on the St Luke’s website at St Luke's and on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
