Master Cutler’s Challenge 2019 raises £200,000

THEY dressed up, they dressed down, they walked, they ran, they cycled, they rowed…and they raised a remarkable £200,000 for the Master Cutler’s Challenge 2019.

The Master Cutler’s Challenge is the annual event which sees businesses sign up to use their entrepreneurial skills and teamwork to make as much money as possible for charity.

This year’s challenge – hosted by 2019 Master Cutler Nick Cragg - was supported by more than 90 teams across Sheffield and Rotherham, with activities ranging from dress up days and black tie dinners, concerts and auctions to cycling and rowing challenges and Tough Mudder events.

Nick and his wife Liz were heavily involved with the success of the Challenge attending many of the participant’s events and visiting their businesses to thank them for their support

And the money raised will support the vital work of St Luke’s Hospice in Sheffield and Rotherham Hospice, with a proportion of the funds also going to the Cutler’s Company Charitable Trust, to be donated to a wide range of smaller charities.

“In the 12 years since it was launched the challenge has well over £1.5 million for a range of charities across the region and I am delighted that this year has been so successful,” said Nick.

“I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank the many Sheffield and Rotherham companies and organisations that supported the challenge this year and made it such great fun for everybody.

“The amount you all raised really will make a massive difference the lives of hospice patients and their families.”
