Strictly stars Kath and Ray sparkle with their hospice donation

THERE was strictly no contest when Kath and Ray Blackwell took to the dance floor with a light footed routine in support of St Luke's.

For even though they didn’t take the judges’ first prize in the Draper’s Dance Centre charity Strictly Come Dancing event, they did take top spot as the night’s most successful fundraisers.

And that meant they were able to hand over a cheque for more than £1,000 to St Luke’s.

The couple, who are both regular dancers at the Beighton dance studio, impressed on the night at the Crowne Plaza Royal Victoria Hotel with a sparkling routine inspired by Sheffield movie classic The Full Monty.

“We had a great time and what made it even better was the amount of money we raised,” said Ray.

“Kath’s father was a patient at St Luke’s many years ago and we have known other people who have received St Luke’s support so it really did mean a great deal to us to be able to give something back.”
