Four legs are better than two for Night Strider Alfie

YORKSHIRE Terrier Alfie is proof that four legs are better than two when he takes up the Night Strider challenge!

Alfie and owner Caroline Travis – Office Services Manager with St Luke’s Night Strider sponsor Pricecheck – took part in the top fundraising event last October.

Now they’re getting ready to set out again as Night Strider makes its return to Sheffield city centre on October 5.

“I was really pleased that Alfie managed to walk all the way round the 10k course last year,” says Caroline.

“He was a dog on a mission and he wasn’t going to be stopped so we’re really looking forward to doing it again this year, though going up those hills can feel like you’re doing the full half marathon.”

Caroline will be joined on the walk by colleagues from long time St Luke’s supporters Pricecheck.

“We all do it at our own pace but there’s a great atmosphere and everybody is so supportive,” she says.

“The fact that I can bring Alfie along too is very special because it’s something we can do together and that he enjoys – or I think he enjoyed it!”

And Caroline is planning to make sure that four-year-old Alfie is fully branded for the occasion.

"I think I’m going to use last year’s Night Strider T shirt to make his own outfit,” Caroline says.

“If everybody else is dressed for the occasion, it’s only right that Alfie should be too.”
