Peak challengers raise more than £4,000

THEY hit the heights…and raised more than £4,000 for St Luke’s!

A team of 12 intrepid fundraisers put their best feet forward as they took on the famous Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge – supported by Maxons Traditional Quality Sweets and the Dixons Pitchfork Charitable Trust.

The celebrated 26 mile challenge takes walkers through the stunning Yorkshire scenery of the Dales National Park, starting with smallest of the peaks, Pen-y-ghent, before going on over 12 hours to tackle the peaks of Ingleborough and Whernside, climbing a final total of 1585 metres!

And the St Luke’s walkers managed to complete the gruelling 26 mile route in just over 11 hours.

“This was a fantastic effort and one that really will make a massive difference to the lives of our patients and their families,” said our Community Fundraising Manager Megan Senior.

“We’d like to thank all our walkers for their time, dedication and enthusiasm for a tough challenge.”
