Volunteers' Week 2021

Volunteers Week 2021

Volunteers' Week is an opportunity each year for us to celebrate our volunteers - their stories, their achievements and their vital contributions to our charity. The theme this year is 'a time to say thanks' and we want to say a huge thank you to all of our St Luke's volunteers, for all that you do.

Without the continued support of our amazing volunteers, we wouldn't be able to keep caring for terminally ill people and their families in Sheffield. From everyone here at St Luke's, thank you to you all.

For our volunteers who have yet to return, thank you for your patience. We miss you and are looking forward to welcoming you back when the time is right.

Wishing all of our wonderful volunteers a very happy Volunteers' Week this June. Thank you for everything that you do.

Our volunteers

Without our Retail and Donation Centre volunteers, we wouldn't have been able to reopen our shops this April.

In this video, our Shop Managers tell us how their dedicated volunteers lie at the heart of everything they do, how they rely on their support every day and the many different roles available in our shops throughout Sheffield. This is their video to say thank you.

"Knowing that volunteering is helping St Luke's raise money to provide the best possible treatment is a very heart warming thing to do."

James volunteers at our Vintage shop in Broomhill, getting involved with all area including helping on the till, pricing stock and doing visual merchandising for the shop windows. Hear his story.

The majority of our shops do not have a lot of space to store donations, so our Donation Centre acts as a vital hub where we sort pre-loved items to distribute to our shops and e-Trading stores to help us raise as much as possible towards patient care.

We are looking for help with the following roles

Sorting Assistant

You will help us to process donations ready to send out to our shops for sale including sorting and unpacking deliveries and donations, looking out for valuable or collectable items for e-trading and Amazon and packing goods for distribution to our shops across Sheffield. This is a diverse role and we are also looking for volunteers to help with more specialised roles, such as sorting bric-a-brac, antiques, collectables and vintage items.
