Develop enterprise skills with Biz Kids
This innovative project teaches children about the power they have to make a positive impact in their local community. They will practice teamwork and communication skills, have the chance to get creative and solve problems, and develop financial literacy whilst having fun too!
How does it work?
Schools are provided with £100 seed fund, then children have two half terms to raise as much as possible. It is a fantastic experience for all involved, allowing students to create their own enterprise project and raise vital funds for St Luke’s.
There are two prizes to be won, The Biz Kids Enterprise Award and overall Biz Kids Champions trophy. Children from every school taking part receive personalised certificates and recognition for their brilliant enterprising fundraising efforts.
New for 2019
Following teacher feedback we have made important changes for 2019:
- A brand new Biz Kids Hero award – teachers can nominate children to receive special recognition with this hero accolade which will be awarded to a pupil from each participating school.
- More time to plan and enjoy the project – launch assemblies will take place in October, and there will be two half terms to undertake enterprising fundraising activity.
- New resources to help children learn about their impact in their community and assist the lead teacher in facilitating Biz Kids – including lesson plans, activity sheets and template letters to parents.
How can I get involved?
This is a fantastic opportunity for schools to fulfill curriculum objectives whilst supporting families across Sheffield affected by terminal illness.
