Each year, over 60,000 runners journey from the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne to South Shields, raising millions for charity. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or taking on your first half marathon, this is your chance to join an incredible community and support local hospice care in Sheffield.
Since 1981, the Great North Run has inspired runners across the globe. In 2026, we celebrate 45 years of this iconic event and we’d love you to be part of it.

We’re securing places for the AJ Bell Great North Run 2026 and would love you on #TeamStLukes! To join, enter our ballot before Sunday 1 March 2026. Successful applicants will be contacted by week commencing 2 March 2026.
