St Luke’s is an organisation that is dedicated to enhancing the wellbeing and quality of life of all those affected by a terminal illness in Sheffield. No patient or family is ever the same, and our journey with each individual is unique. Through the provision of high quality care, support, compassion and respect, we aim to improve the lives of these people at some of the most challenging times of their lives.
Our values embody our way of working and they are Dignified, Compassionate, Inspired and Pioneering. Working for St Luke’s offers a real opportunity to make a difference to local people.
We now have an exciting specialist role available to join our highly valued members of the Chaplaincy team. If you would like to offer care in this creative and challenging environment, we have available the post of Palliative Care Chaplain to offer a successful Chaplaincy applicant. The role will involve working with In Patient Centre, Day Care and the Community Nursing Teams.
This opportunity would be ideal for someone with recent or current healthcare Chaplaincy experience, who has a particular interest in palliative and end of life care. You will be a graduate or equivalent, with substantial experience of giving pastoral care.
You will be able to reflect on the practice of spiritual care, and keen to contribute to an effective multi-faith Chaplaincy team. You will be capable of offering care to patients with spiritual and pastoral needs from both within and beyond your own faith or belief tradition.
You will be able to contribute to the Sheffield City Wide Chaplaincy on-call out-of-hours rota and to work flexible hours within St Luke’s when necessary, including one weekend a month.
The selection process will include a competency & values-based panel interview as well as a presentation for which further information will be provided to shortlisted candidates.
