St Luke’s is an organisation that is dedicated to enhancing the wellbeing and quality of life of all those affected by a terminal illness in Sheffield. No patient or family is ever the same, and our journey with each individual is unique. Through the provision of high quality care, support, compassion and respect, we aim to improve the lives of these people at some of the most challenging times of their lives.
Working for St Luke’s offers a real opportunity to make a difference to local people.
We are looking to complement our highly committed and professional kitchen team with a talented and passionate Chef de Partie, to cook a range of nutritious dishes for patients, visitors and staff as well as develop innovative catering for our hospitality events.
At St Luke’s we pride ourselves on cooking high quality dishes with fresh local ingredients which are tailored to meet the needs of our patients and their families as well as provide an exciting choice of meals for our staff.
Almost 100% of the food served at St Luke’s is freshly produced on the premises. Bread, biscuits, cookies, soup and pasta are made daily, alongside freshly made juices and smoothies.
We also have a herb garden and fruit trees within the grounds - so if you have last minute inspiration for seasoning your dish or an idea for an interesting seasonal dessert, you can harvest immediately from our garden.
Our best candidates will have the passion and energy to join the pace of the dynamic team of professionals already in place as well as excellent cooking skills based on experience as a chef in a high quality venue, working in all areas of the kitchen.
As well as a love of all types of food and a creative flair for designing and delivering fine dining events menus, our successful candidates will have the skills to maintain and build good working relationships with all departments across St Luke’s.
It’s a great time to join St Luke’s as we continue to extend our work to support more people across Sheffield at some of the most challenging times of their lives. Your work will be rewarded with a competitive salary & enhanced weekend rates, a range of benefits including 27 days holiday a year (plus Bank Holidays), limited evening work and alternate weekends off where possible.
