Shop volunteers
We are currently looking for people to volunteer in our shops at Chapeltown, Crookes, Ecclesall, Hillsborough, Nether Edge, Stocksbridge. We're also urgently looking for volunteers to work in our new shop at Firth Park, which will be opening in April.
If you are interested in volunteering in our shops, please fill in our online application form specifying which shop you would like to volunteer in and the times you're available.
Please not that we do not currently have any vacancies for volunteers at our shops in Abbeydale Road, Woodseats or Gleadless.

Beauty Therapist Volunteer
The Beauty Therapist Volunteer must be a minimum of 18 years old and will carry out duties under the supervision of an assigned member of the Wellbeing Team at all times. They should be able to demonstrate compassion and communicate in a friendly manner. It is important in this role that the individual should be non judgmental and demonstrate excellent listening skills, whilst being able to take instruction and being aware of the clinical and patient boundaries.
There are no opportunities for this role at present.
Bucket Collector
To assist in bucket collections whilst being an ambassador for the charity at all times. Bucket collections greatly impact on the work of the hospice by contributing vital funds, providing a stable source of income and helping to create public awareness within all communities in Sheffield.
No previous experience needed, but will suit those who are friendly and willing to chat to passers by and supporters of the hospice.

Central Services/Reception Volunteer
The Central Services/Reception Volunteer must be a minimum of 18 years old and will carry out duties under the supervision of the Administrative Coordinator at all times. They should be able to demonstrate a pleasant manner when dealing with colleagues and visitors and have a friendly and approachable attitude to all staff.

We're looking for people across Sheffield to identify suitable organisations/businesses that will display a collection tin on their counter top in order to raise funds and the profile of the charity.
The collection tin fundraising programme will greatly impact on the work of the hospice by contributing vital funds, providing a stable source of income and helping to create public awareness within all communities in Sheffield.
No previous experience is needed, but would suit those with good communication skills and who are outgoing, confident and friendly. A good knowledge of your local area would be advantageous as would the use of a car; but this is not essential.

Complementary Therapist Volunteer
The Complementary Therapist Volunteer must be a minimum of 18 years old carrying out duties under the supervision of an assigned member of the Wellbeing Team and should be able to demonstrate compassion and communicate in a friendly manner. Dining Room Volunteer
Our Hospitality Team provides a high quality and personal service to our patients their relatives in addition to our visitors and staff of the Hospice. The restaurant provides a lunchtime service, Monday to Friday 12 noon to 2.00 pm and is seeking assistance from a volunteer who can provide that extra ‘pair of hands’. The Volunteer will be supervised at all times by the Hospitality Assistant who is on duty on that particular day. There are no opportunities for this role at present.

Overview: There are a variety of different event roles available including setting up, promoting the event, stewarding, bucket collections, and general event assistance.

Flower Volunteer
The Flower Volunteer must be a minimum of 18 years old and be available after 2pm to carry out duties under the supervision of the Senior Housekeeper/Head of Housekeeping and Hospitality. He/she should be able to demonstrate compassion and communicate in a friendly manner.
We welcome members of a local flower club, and or the expertise of a qualified florist who may share their skills with other members of the team. However individuals who have a general interest in flower arranging are equally welcomed to apply to join our team.

Fundraising Admin Support Volunteer
The Administration Support Volunteer will carry out duties under the supervision of the Fundraising Office Manager or a dedicated member of the team. We are seeking an individual who is able to demonstrate a pleasant manner and have a flexible attitude as the tasks are varied. This role would suit an individual who is competent with Microsoft Word and Excel, has an eye for detail and is available on a Tuesday.

Hairdressing Volunteer
The Hairdressing Volunteer must be a minimum of 18 years old and will need to provide evidence of appropriate skills, qualifications and training undertaken to offer a service to patients with an aim to create a uplifting and enjoyable environment and should be able to demonstrate compassion and communicate in a friendly manner. It is important in this role that the individual should be non judgmental and demonstrate excellent listening skills, whilst being able to take instruction and being aware of the clinical and patient boundaries.

In-Patient Unit Companion Volunteer
The Companion Volunteer must be a minimum of 18 years old and will carry out duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse at all times. He/she should be able to demonstrate compassion and communicate in a friendly manner.

Laundry Volunteer
The Laundry at St Luke’s Hospice is operational 7 days per week from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm. During this time we are seeking help in this area. The Laundry Volunteer must be a minimum of 18 years old and will carry out duties under the supervision of a Housekeeper at times. He/she should be able to demonstrate compassion and communicate in a friendly manner.

Oral History Interviewer Volunteer
We are seeking volunteers to conduct one-to-one interviews with patients. These usually take place at the hospice but can occasionally be conducted in the interviewee’s home. Volunteers should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to work on their own initiative and be non-judgemental.
This role might be particularly suitable for people with experience of conducting interviews; however volunteers will be given full training in the interview process and using the recording equipment and will also be provided with ongoing support. Oral History Interviewer Volunteers must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

Schools Ambassador Volunteer
Our Community Fundraising income stream relies on groups, organisations and individuals within the Sheffield community electing to fundraise for us. A key component of this is raising the profile of St Luke’s and generating awareness from an early age. We are ideally looking for a volunteer with some level of school experience (paid or unpaid) to help raise the awareness of St Luke’s within schools, both primary and secondary, across Sheffield and to encourage and support fundraising activities.
