Will I never!

Sheffield solicitors end year of fundraising for St Luke's on a record high.

Taylot&Emmet fundraise for St Luke's HospiceSheffield solicitors Taylor&Emmet LLP are celebrating their most successful year of fundraising ever, after donating more than £10,000 to St Luke's as its 2011 annual charity.

The firm raised a total of £10,140, rounding up a busy calendar of charity events with a Christmas craft fair held at its headquarters in Sheffield city centre. The last 12 months have also seen staff swim the equivalent of the English Channel in their lunch breaks, participate in a special Zumba session and flex their culinary muscles on several occasions.

By far the largest contributor to the firm’s fundraising success was their probate team who raised almost £7,000 by waiving their will writing fees in favour of a donation from clients during our Wills Month in March 2011.

Claire Petty, Taylor&Emmet’s Marketing Co-ordinator spearheaded the firm’s fundraising efforts: “Each year, our annual charity is put to a vote and it was clear from the start that St Luke’s was a popular choice, as so many of our employees have personal links with the organisation. Raising this phenomenal amount of money has been a real team effort and I would like to thank all of my colleagues for donating their time and hard earned cash so willingly this year.”

Margot Walker, Corporate and Trust Fundraising Manager at St Luke's added: “Topping the £10,000 mark in just one year is a tremendous achievement. At a time when budgets are tight for businesses and individuals alike, it is so heartening to see such generosity and compassion still exists. It has been a pleasure to work with Taylor&Emmet and I wish the firm every success in its future fundraising activities.”
