Even the Deputy Prime Minister knows there’s only one thing that really brings a pie to life… and that’s a dash of Sheffield’s favourite condiment!
Sheffield Hallam MP Nick Clegg was the guest of honour at St Luke’s as we launched our month-long Great Pie and Peas Up fundraiser. Mr Clegg was more than happy to add a dash of Henderson’s Relish to his dinner after hearing how the much-loved Sheffield company is supporting our campaign with special limited edition bottles of their celebrated mealtime favourite.
The Great Pie and Peas Up is part of the Room To Care appeal to raise £5 million for the building of our new In Patient Unit.
“I've always been a big supporter of St Luke’s Hospice, so I was delighted to help launch the excellent Great Pie and Peas Up fundraising campaign,” he said, as he sat down to eat with patients.
“What’s more, I was grateful for the chance to sample some delicious food from the superb kitchen and talk to patients, their family members and hardworking staff. Funds raised will help build a new a £5 million new In Patient Unit so that St Luke’s can carry on providing the best possible care for Sheffield people who have life-limiting illnesses".
It's an outstanding cause, so I hope as many people as possible will get involved throughout the campaign.”
