Day in, day out we depend entirely on the commitment and generosity of many, many people across Sheffield and beyond to provide most of the money we need...

This year alone we need to raise more than £4 million of the £6 million it costs just to carry on doing what we do.
Government funding via the NHS Sheffield Primary Care Trust covers a declining proportion of our operating costs – currently about one third.
There’s no charge for any of our services to patients.
It costs over £700 per hour to run St Luke’s, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
More than 80% of our income goes on direct patient care.
Because of our high profile in Sheffield and in the local news media, some people assume that we’re a rich charity. We aren’t. If all our income were to cease we could only keep going for about six months.
